BYD's sales in April surpass 200,000
BYD Auto recently released its production and sales figures for April 2023, indicating a year-on-year increase of 98.31% with a cumulative production of 209,448 vehicles and cumulative sales of 210,295 vehicles. The company's passenger vehicle sales totaled 209,467 units, while commercial vehicle sales reached 828 units. Notably, BYD sold 14,827 new energy passenger vehicles overseas, featuring a total installed battery capacity of approximately 9.954GWh.

The total sales volume of Seres in April was less than 15,000

The April production and sales report from electric vehicle brand Seres revealed that the company sold a total of 14,731 vehicles during the month, representing a year-on-year decline of 26.49%. Of these, 6,917 were new energy vehicles, a drop of 19.12% compared to the previous year. Seres produced a total of 15,338 vehicles in April, a decrease of 25.9% year-on-year. Among these, 6,514 were new energy vehicles, representing a decline of 15.82% compared to the same period last year. While the sales figures show a decline for Seres, the brand remains committed to developing and promoting its electric vehicle offerings in the competitive Chinese market.

MINI announces pure electric COOPER with 400km range

According to global media reports, MINI recently released details regarding the power and range of its pure electric COOPER model. According to the reports, the entry-level COOPER will feature a front-mounted 135kW motor and offer a pure electric range of 186 miles, while the performance version will be equipped with a front-mounted 160kW motor and offer an extended pure-electric range of 249 miles. These specifications suggest that MINI is positioning the COOPER as a strong contender in the growing electric vehicle market.

In a recent statement, Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the Passenger Association, projected that the sales volume of new energy vehicles would reach 3.7 million units in the first quarter of 2023. This reflects the strong global trend for new energy passenger vehicles, with a year-on-year increase of 26% in sales volume from January to March 2023, amounting to 2.55 million units. China dominated the new energy passenger vehicle market, accounting for 59% of the world's sales.
