During the company’s 2023 fiscal year financial report, Toyota made a groundbreaking announcement stating their plan to introduce 10 pure electric models to the market. The Japanese automaker aims for the new models to hit the market by 2026, with the goal of selling 1.5 million pure electric vehicles within that time period. These new vehicles will be produced on Toyota's next-generation electric vehicle platform, covering a range of body types including sedans, SUVs and sports cars. VW will recall ID.4 in the U.S. due to door handle safety concerns

Recently, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) released a recall report stating that Volkswagen will recall 35,325 of its ID.4 vehicles in the United States. The recall is due to a potential safety concern that doors may open suddenly while the vehicle is in motion. The affected vehicles were manufactured at Volkswagen's Zwickau plant in Germany, between December 2020 and December 2022 and were then exported to the United States. Volkswagen is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of their customers and has advised them to bring their vehicles to the authorized service centers for inspection and repair.
The new NIO ES6 will be launched on May 24 with upgrades

Recently, NIO announced that the new NIO ES6 will be officially launched on May 24 and deliveries will commence on May 25. The ES6 vehicle is built on the brand’s new NT2.0 platform, incorporating the addition of lidar technology. The sporty SUV will also feature new intelligent capabilities, expected to bring improvements in terms of “fluidity, interactive experience, and intelligent dialogue”.

Toyota Motor Corporation recently disclosed that human error resulted in the misconfiguration of their cloud platform system. From November 2013 to April of this year, sensitive vehicle data, including geographic location and identification numbers, was unintentionally exposed. According to reports approximately 2.15 million Japanese users' information may be at risk.

Tesla accounts for nearly 25% of Shanghai's total auto output

According to a recent Bloomberg report, Tesla is projected to manufacture a total of 1.37 million vehicles worldwide in 2022, with 1.31 million vehicles expected to be delivered to customers. Notably, over half of these deliveries will originate from the Shanghai Gigafactory, making a significant contribution to the local automotive market by accounting for approximately a quarter of all vehicles in Shanghai. Furthermore, the increased production has positively impacted Shanghai's overall industrial output value, boosting it by 1.3 percentage points last year.
