BYD's first factory in Europe rumoured to start production in 2025
According to a report from the Financial Times, BYD will not consider building its first car factory in Europe in the UK. Shi Youxing, general manager of BYD's European car sales business, said that the UK is not among the top ten candidate sites for the company's first factory in Europe. It is expected that a final decision on the location of the company’s first factory in Europe will be made this year and production is expected to start in 2025 at the earliest.
Chengdu: By 2025 the output of new energy vehicles will reach 250,000
Recently, the "Implementation Opinions on Promoting the Development of the New Energy Vehicle Industry in Chengdu" was officially released. The Opinions propose to expand the production and sales of new energy vehicles, support vehicle manufacturers to invest in and build new energy vehicle projects in Chengdu, and promote the comprehensive electrification of vehicles in public areas. The plan aims for by 2025, the competitiveness of Chengdu's new energy vehicle industry will significantly increase, with an industrial scale exceeding 150 billion RMB and a production output of 250,000 vehicles.
1.212 million new energy vehicles will be recalled in 2022, a record high
According to recent data from the State Administration for Market Regulation, a total of 47 recalls of new energy vehicles were carried out in 2022, involving 1.212 million vehicles, accounting for 27.0% of the total recalls for the year, an increase of 31.5% year-on-year. Remote upgrade (OTA) has gradually become an important way to improve vehicle safety, with 17 OTA recalls implemented, involving 887,000 vehicles, accounting for 19.8% of the total recalls for the year.
