IEA: Global electric vehicle sales will see strong growth in 2024
​

According to Reuters, the International Energy Agency forecasts that electric vehicle sales will continue to grow robustly in 2024 despite economic challenges in some markets. Prices and the availability of charging infrastructure are identified as crucial factors for future growth in the electric vehicle sector. It is projected that global electric vehicle sales will hit 17 million units this year, making up more than one-fifth of all new car sales worldwide. Notably, China, the largest automotive market globally, is expected to contribute 10 million units to this total.

BMW will collaborate with Rimac to develop high-voltage battery technology

According to global media reports, BMW and the Croatian automotive manufacturer  Rimac have announced a partnership agreement focused on high-voltage battery technology for electric vehicles. The collaboration aims to challenge Asia's dominance in this field. BMW declined to provide further details on the batteries or new models being developed through this partnership. They stated that the collaboration would not supply the novel cylindrical batteries for the "Neue Klasse" electric vehicles, which are slated for production in 2025.

GAC backed Miraco Motors “First Class” model will officially launch in Q4 of 2024

Today, Miraco Motors, a startup incubated by GAC Group, officially launched its Miraco  “First Class” model, primarily designed for passenger service applications. The vehicle is scheduled to go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2024. Miraco Motors focuses on the new energy commercial vehicle sector, and has developed the innovative iGLCA intelligent light commercial architecture, which supports the creation of multiple vehicle models through a modular cabin and chassis design.

Wireless charging to go into mass production next year under the ARCFOX Darwin 2.0 technology system

Recently, ARCFOX officially announced the launch of the ARCFOX Darwin 2.0 technology system, setting new standards and technological directions in safety, health, battery, power, comfort, and chassis. Additionally, the new BE22 platform, also known as the Polaris Platform, was officially released. Notably, intelligent wireless charging is scheduled for mass production in 2025, which will enable charging as soon as the vehicle is parked.

Volkswagen to launch four compact electric vehicles based on the CMP platform

Recently, Volkswagen Group officially announced a €2.5 billion investment to expand its production and innovation center in Hefei. This investment aims to strengthen its local R&D capabilities and accelerate the production of two smart electric vehicle models developed in collaboration with Xpeng Motors under the Volkswagen brand. Volkswagen Group plans to base these vehicles on the CMP platform, targeting entry-level models for the mainstream A-segment market

Today marked a significant milestone for Voyah as the company celebrated the production of its 100,000th new energy vehicle. Voyah has set its sights on an ambitious goal to reach a second milestone of 100,000 new energy vehicles sold within 2024. March 2024 saw Voyah delivering 6,122 vehicles, representing a remarkable 102% growth compared to the previous year. Furthermore, the company's sales from January to March 2024 surged to 16,345 vehicles, achieving an impressive 188% increase over the same period last year.

Europe's EV sales in February rise by 10% year-over-year

According to global media reports, electric vehicle sales in Europe increased by approximately 10% year-over-year in February, keeping pace with the overall market growth. However, future growth may slow down due to the reduction of several market incentive policies. As of the end of February, the cumulative registration of electric vehicles in Europe for 2024 amounted to 403,691 units, an 18% increase year-over-year, with a market share of 20%.
